The True Prize

 The True Prize

There are so many promises we make to ourselves, families, friends, even GOD. Do we accomplish all of it? No. I think we put expectations on ourselves that weren't even supposed to be on us from the jump. That's the same thing as pleasing people. We people please to, keep the peace but go to war with ourselves. I call this blog the true prize because what are you really trying to aim for in life? Who are you satisfying? Who and what are you saying yes to?

What you say yes to, now enslaves you. You have to serve what you said yes to. For example, my Nana called. She needed assistance with moving her air conditioner. I was late. She called asking if what she asked of me was going to get done. I went over and completed the task and went home. See that's not people pleasing but simply saying yes to a task that was asked and it was done. Simple … right? We can say yes to jobs, money, relationships, trips, things that entice us right? Not everything that glitters is gold.

For my people who love smoking. We can sometimes put ourselves in bad situations chasing something or a sensual pleasure that can possibly be dangerous or lead us into danger. Ah see what I did there? Even in psalms the lord said he will deliver us from evil look at psalms 23. Psalms is such a good book to learn from.

Lust shows in many different ways. Don't look at others and what they have.Focus on God he is the true prize. He said seek him and his kingdom first and everything else will add unto you. For most people who know me I quote this scripture a lot. It means something deeper than the visual eye. I used to search for love when love was already inside of me. I was looking for a job but god gave me gifts not talents but gifts that i can use to help me make a living. It may seem small and ridiculous to you. As for a believer we know that the system of this world operates in darkness and God called his children to be a light. That's why people look at you funny. I laugh as I go along with my life. Why? I don't have to be a Hebrew slave working for the systems of this world when I know God will supply every need. The lord said take his yoke for his burden is light and easy to carry.

Life isn't always butterflies and rainbows. With God though I walk in humility, faith, love, hope, rest, peace, wholesomeness, stability, strength, courage, full. What game are you playing & is it worth the prize you were seeking for?
