New Year, New Me, Same God
New Year. New Me. Same God.
It is finally January. The start of a new year. Let me first by saying I know it's been a while since we connected. I'm glad I'm back. My new year new me is trying to be consistent. Some days I just wake up and totally forget I have responsibilities to myself and you. I made a promise to myself that I will write at least once a day. With this new year we can create goals that we want to accomplish. Sometimes we do achieve what we want, others some may have a different outcome. Does that mean we weren't renewed?
In the scriptures it describes God as the same yesterday, today and forever. How does that make you feel? If you don't know God's character you may be confused. I know God as a loving, sensitive, truthful, advocate that stands in between the gap for humanity. He is a God that listens and knows exactly what we need and even want. We go to God with our request, dreams, goals, wants and the reality is he already knows. That should bring you some comfort.
Currently it is January the 25th 2025 if you haven't written any goals or haven't thought about what you want to accomplish this year let's start off with character development because without change within ourselves we cannot make any progress in life. Yesterday I had a meeting with my prp and fellow participants to write out 25 goals we wanted to accomplish this year. For many of you, you have heard me say be kind and gentle with yourself, and for those who have been around me I can be super hard on myself, not showing myself grace nor mercy. Most of the time I punish myself before a judgment can happen. Well that's one of my goals to be kind to myself. My friend Kabira used to say this a lot and had a phone case expressing to be kind to your mind.
We know the mind is the battlefield. We wrestle with making decisions, some of us may have a mental illness we struggle with and overall we can just be in our head 24/7. That's not healthy. The mind is supposed to be a sacred safe place to be creative, to love, to grow, to learn, to teach, to have revelation from God. What will you choose today? What will you fill your mind with today?
I have been working really hard to get this to you guys. Sometimes we need help and a gentle reminder that we are not alone. I know sometimes it can feel like that. God is always ready to listen to you. He wants you to come to him with your good, bad, indifferent. My father always says "there's nothing you can do or say that can surprise God”. so just go to him as you are. Come with a heart of gratitude, thanksgiving. We know that God is a protector. God loved us so much that he didn't want to be separated from you. That's why he sent his son to die for all of us so we can have this intimate time with him. What a marvelous supernatural blessing offered to us as mere human beings.
I’m excited for the great things in store for Re—Birth. We need to allow GOD to guide us to greater heights and deeper depths. Expect great things to come forward this year..
